Food For Thought
by Demitry Majors
Russian born, when I first came to Nepal, I wasn’t going to see the temples nor mountains that seem to capture the imagination of every traveler, and no, I wasn’t going for the food either. In fact, I was dragged here. You see, the first time Nepal caught me, was at the age of six, so the usual tourist highlights didn’t yet interest me. Frankly, Nepal didn’t interest me either...

Romancing the Mahseer
Angling in Himalayan Rivers
by Ravi Singh.
After what seemed ages, March 2005 saw my dream trip come true – an angling tour of east Nepal's Sapta Koshi in quest of a legendary fresh water game fish, the yellow-finned Golden Mahseer (Tor putitira), known as pahenle sahar in Nepali. Friends and family thought my wandering off into the countryside was sheer lunacy with the Maoist insurgency at it's peak. But, for dedicated anglers of the mighty mahseer – undisputed king of the Himalayan Rivers – such a sporting trip is an epic adventure.

Nepal Travel - Trekking Explained
by Demitry Majors.
Trekking In Nepal to many sounds like one of those activities that one finds on a dream board or an activity that sounds so foreign that it belongs in some obscure National Geographic program about a far away place. Frankly both 'trekking' and 'Nepal' fall under that category of cryptic adventure activities and places. In reality though, trekking in Nepal is nothing shocking (other than of course the beauty of the environment itself) and not too, out of the ordinary for anybody who has been on a long hike.

Travel Nepal - Manakamana 'A Wish From the Heart'
by Keri Gormley.
I have traveled along Nepal's “East-West” highway many times from its capital of Kathmandu to the popular lakeside town of Pokhara, but I am usually fortunate enough to sleep for most of the 5 hour journey – spectacular for the first few times, but redundant otherwise. The last time I came to Pokhara, I saw a curious sight that seemed a little out of place in this country – a cable car. It stretched from the Trishuli River that runs along the highway and extended up the steep slope of a surrounding mountain, how I missed this on one of my non-sleeping trips before is a mystery to me.

Nepal Travel - Or Lack Thereof
by Keri Gormley.
Many travelers coming to Nepal would not immediately think about how interesting it can be to watch or sit in traffic or even to simply watch how a petrol station works. The world seems to be having a fuel crisis and if you should travel to Nepal you will find that here it is no different, although their approach – like everything else in the country – has been temporarily resolved with thinking outside of the typical box.

Nepal Travel Culture Shock - Be Prepared
by Keri Gormley.
There are certainly thousands of descriptive articles about travel to Nepal and the many attractions and sights to see as well as people's family vacation experiences. These articles do a great deal of describing the “what” and “where," but very few choose to address and deal with the inter personal experiences of travel to Nepal. The cultural topics of Nepal travel. One such topic is the idea of culture shock.

Nepal Travel The Truth About Chitwan National Park
by Keri Gormley.
Nepal's Chitwan National Park is not only one of the most popular parks in the country but it is also the largest protected area as well. Chitwan caters to tourists in the fact that it is one of the most interesting, unique travel destinations in the country. This in mind, there are many Nepal travel websites filled with information about Nepal's most famous wildlife national park at Chitwan, but they explain little about the park by limiting the information to just travel activities. There are even more sites that claim the park as being an amazing organization for wildlife preservation, this may be true but that was not always the case.
